All employees of DBS receive an annual appraisal which identifies both essential and desirable training needs for each individual. Deepdale actively supports the career development of people at all levels within the organisation from apprentice to board level.
Supervisors, shop floor/site operatives and apprentices receive appropriate NVQ training and qualifications, whilst technical and administrative staff study for a wide range of internationally recognised qualifications such as MSc (Façade Engineering), BSc (quantity surveying), CIPS, CIMA, RICS, IPM, CWCT, and others.
Once professional qualifications have been obtained, continuing professional development is encouraged even where not mandatory, under the Company’s continuous improvement programmes.
We have one of the highest graduate employment ratios in our sector, and have well established ties to Northern universities. Two KTP initiatives (knowledge transfer partnerships) are currently under way, one for streamlining production operations, and one that is examining the benefits of 5-D modelling for construction contracts with particular emphasis on the building envelope.
